But, if we may be so bold, while our competitors make perfectly perfunctory key holders, theirs lack the charm of Generik’s artful attachment: The Claviger. In ancient Greek that’s key bearing Janus, God of beginnings, doorways, gates, passages and transitions.
Tyroll Forge’s Hip Key Clip begins with ‘bar stock’. The Smith’s go to raw material is almost exclusively 3/16″ – 1/2″ round stock, but in this case he chose a rounded edge thin rectangular stock he bought from an early mentor fellow smith who was retiring and closing up shop. Bob needed a whole lot of it moved out. Generik had a hunch it’d be useful, and sure enough it inspired this new shape and its purpose. Great for guys and gals. Papa Generik will not lose his keys any more. He’s got a ritual now and he don’t leave home without Le Clavier on his belt. Of course, he has holsters and tools that seem to gravitate to his waist line, so this is a natural addition. The Stalwart Wife doesn’t wear belts all the time, but finds Le Clavier stays put on the waistline of most of her wardrobe including leggings, skirts, jeans, khakis, corduroys, and flannel lined work pants. Definitely has a craftsman working class style that celebrates hand forged solutions.
